Hello Baby BOY!

WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! You’re a BOY! That’s the greatest news ever. We wanted a boy so bad. We thought you might be a girl for a while, but I’m glad we were wrong. We’ll want a girl some day too, but you’re our first baby, and we wanted our first baby to be a boy. This is perfect!

Last weekend we asked Erin (that’s the amazing person whose belly you are growing in),  if she knew what your gender was, and she said YES. Just knowing that Erin knew was a huge deal to us. Up until that point your gender was a huge mystery, and she knew the answer to that mystery. She told Lindsay that she hadn’t told us yet because she was waiting until we asked.

Erin made plans to send us balloons that would tell us your gender, but they never showed up! What a sweet idea though?! It was hilarious because we texted her, asking her if she had thought about how she’d like to tell us… and she then realized that her balloons never showed up. The company she used goofed up. When Lindsay and I heard this we seriously LOVED that she had gone out of her way to make it special for us. I got up and was walking around, kind of pacing back and forth while Lindsay texted back and forth with her. All the sudden Lindsay yells, “SHE JUST TOLD ME! OH MY GOSH I KNOW WHAT IT IS” with a huge grin on her face! You were no longer an “it”, you were a BOY! Lindsay didn’t tell me right away though…

I have no idea what I said for the next 7 minutes or so. I just stared at Lindsay like she was an alien. She KNEW you were a boy, and she had a gigantic smile on her face. I had no idea, and I had a big dumb grin combined with a deer-in-the-headlights look. I was the last to know. She eventually told me by saying your name, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Guard, which is still a secret to everyone. For those of you reading along, that’s how many letters there are in the first name… any guesses?

It was the best news I’d ever heard. We seriously can’t be more excited! We already went shopping for furniture for your room- we can’t wait to decorate it! I can’t wait for so many things. We’re going to have so much fun together. I have so many things I want to teach you, and I bet you’re going to teach me a few things too. I think I’m going to be a good dad, and Lindsay is going to be an amazing mommy.

We already love you, and so do our friends and family. A handful of our friends got together at 9:00 last night to celebrate you being a boy. We ran to the store and got a bunch of “It’s a BOY!” balloons and surprised them with the news. All of them have boys too, so we’ve got a pretty sweet baseball team already planned for you.

November is coming :)

Love,

Dad.

What great news! I think it is amazing how God put Ryan in that church a few years ago…orchestrating His perfect plan before anyone even had any idea of what was to come! Having a boy first does pretty much ROCK! Our oldest is a boy and I love that his 3 younger sibs (G, G, B) have a big brother to look up to! Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us! BTW, we are a Mission family–not random blog stalkers! Have fun shopping for your little one..this is the best time and it goes by waaaayy to quickly! The days are long but the YEARS are short!

Every time I read anything about this, I cry! I am soooo excited for you guys and can’t wait to meet this little guy! What a lucky little boy he is. He is going to have the greatest parents. So from reading this I can guess that his name isn’t Kevin, but can’t wait to hear. Keep us posted.
